When getting ready for a new year you look back at the year that has just passed. What did we do well and what could we do differently? Well, looking back to 2020, I can say it had its challenges and we learned from them. We were also host to some of the best weddings ever!! One wedding had a catering company from Dallas that was so outstanding, we thought we were at a 5-star restaurant!! One Bride had her family make the most gorgeous farm tables for her wedding reception; it was the absolute perfect touch!! So much that she now rents those tables out for events as Grade D Ranch Tables. We also had a very lively wedding with a pizza and pasta buffet set up outside under tents with lights; it was so unique and such a creative way to serve. Our last wedding in December, we were host to a very special wedding, as the Bride was the daughter of the general contractor for Charleston Sky and she would not have had her wedding anywhere else! It was one of the most romantic weddings we have seen, with the garden lights cascading down from the balcony. A perfect touch for the indoor ceremony. These soft garden lights were also hung from the rafters in the reception area and we have not had this before and we are in love!!! Thanks to Paris Party & Event Rentals, as they were a huge part in all of these weddings. Working with vendors is the best part of what we have learned. We have started 2021 off great with our annual Look & Book Open House. We gathered some of our favorite vendors and allowed them to showcase their talents. We host this event to not only show off our beautiful venue but also want to show off our fabulous vendors who work with us!! Booking more weddings and events is always the goal, so that is why we market thru social media, open houses, or articles such as this one. Building stronger relationships and friendships along the way is a benefit to this goal! By hosting this event we were able to book new clients and simplify the planning process by meeting and connecting with many vendors that they will need for their event. We were able to visit with newly engaged couples, community members, couples who have already booked with us but needed additional vendors, and of course family and friends of the “Bride Tribe” and “Groom Crew”. Having this event so shortly after our recent snow/ice storm and during a pandemic, our expectations were different than last year for sure. After the day was over, we were so thankful, grateful, happy, and pumped at not only the great turnout but the upbeat atmosphere of the whole event (thanks to Rydell with Retro Class Entertainment). Our BOHO-themed event was well received and our vendors did a wonderful job decorating their booth space to give our guests a cohesive overall tone. The vendors who attend an Open House can make or break an event! This team was professional, enthusiastic, and dedicated and they worked together to make every attendee feel welcomed.
